Tier 2 upgrade

Nomad

Nomad gives the Desperado more attack speed per Bloon in range and a burst of range, speed and cash when you lose lives. How it works.

Attacks faster the more Bloons are in range. When lives are lost gets temporary range and attack speed increase, plus a small amount of cash if a Bloon leaked.

How to use Nomad

Nomad adds two effects. First, the Desperado gets +2% attack speed for every Bloon in range, up to +50% with 25 Bloons. Unlike Quickdraw and Standoff, this counts Bloons it cannot target. Second, it gains a passive that triggers when you lose a life: for 15 seconds it gets +16 range and attacks 40% faster, and any Bloons that leak during that time give double their cash value. The passive has a 60 second cooldown.

When to buy it

Nomad is mainly the step to Enforcer and the bottom path. Its group speed bonus is best on the Enforcer shotgun, which faces crowds at short range, and poor on the pistol.

As a crosspath, only take it when the build cannot keep Quickdraw's distance bonus, or when the Desperado is likely to see dense groups (0-3-2 Deadeye, 0-4-2 Bounty Hunter, 0-5-2 Golden Justice). It has no synergy with Standoff, which wants the opposite.

The life-loss passive can help in an emergency, but never plan your income around leaking. Some heroes can trigger it on purpose: Ezili through her Sacrificial Totem and Dan D'Monke through his Rabble Rouser ability.

Is it worth it?

Only as the path to Enforcer or on a group-focused crosspath. On its own it is one of the weaker Desperado upgrades.
