How to use Giganotosaurus

Giganotosaurus replaces the T-Rex. To buy it, the T-Rex must be at max Beast Power with three additional T-Rexes merged in. Beast Power starts at 36 and goes up to 132, sitting at 84 with the three extra tier 4s. Range increases to 50 and it can see over all obstacles. Bites grow to 24 radius and now pass through blimp layers at any power level.

Bite stats scale with power:

  • Damage: 500 to 2,000 (1,250 at the default 84 power).
  • Bonus against stunned Bloons: +250 to +1,000.
  • Pierce: 33 to 83.
  • Attack cooldown: slower than T-Rex, from 1.25 seconds down to about 0.9 seconds at max power.

The Stomp ability now covers the whole screen and stuns for longer: 12 seconds on regular Bloons, 8 on MOABs, 6 on BFBs and 4 on ZOMGs and DDTs. Its cooldown runs from 25 seconds down to about 15.5 at max power.

When to buy it

Giganotosaurus has one of the easiest saveups of any expensive tower, because a max-power T-Rex holds well while you build it.

  • During the saveup, a single max-power T-Rex is usually better than four separate T-Rexes, because layer skipping matters more than extra stuns.
  • Its slow attack makes it weaker against fast DDTs, MOAB rushes and dense Super Ceramics outside of Stomp.
  • Attack speed buffs help a lot.

How it compares

  • Megalodon has better single-target damage, lasts longer into Freeplay and is better against Boss Bloons.
  • Pouākai controls almost every round before the BAD.
  • Giganotosaurus stands out in CHIMPS thanks to its layer-skipping bites and global Stomp.

Is it worth it?

It is very powerful, but it has fewer best-in-class uses than Megalodon or Pouākai. In CHIMPS, especially on maps without water, it is a solid late-game carry.
