Bloons TD 6 version 51.0 went live on Steam on 14 October 2025, with the Epic Games Store build following a day later. It was the fifth major update of 2025, and it finally gave the Bomb Shooter its own Paragon, first teased back in the Update 50 notes.
The four headline additions are easy to sum up. The Ballistic Obliteration Missile Bunker (B.O.M.B.) is a slow, heavy-hitting missile Paragon built to delete MOAB-Class Bloons and Bosses. Three Mines ‘Round is a new Beginner map, a remake of the old BTD5 freeplay favourite with Bananite crystals you can mine for profit. A Masters of the Universe crossover brings a Skeletor skin for Obyn and the Havoc Staff power. And a long balance pass touched almost every tower class, with big changes to Ice Monkey, Glue Gunner, Desperado, Monkey Ace, Super Monkey’s Sun Temple and three existing Paragons.

Ballistic Obliteration Missile Bunker: the Bomb Shooter Paragon

The in-game description sums it up: “Cluster explosions, anti-MOAB explosions, Bloon stunning explosions, knockback explosions. BOMB has it all!” Like every Paragon, you build it by having one tier 5 from each path on the map at once: Bloon Crush (5-0-0), MOAB Eliminator (0-5-0) and Bomb Blitz (0-0-5), then buying the Paragon upgrade on one of them. The upgrade itself costs 750,000 XP to unlock.
At launch the upgrade cost $600,000 on Medium ($510,000 Easy, $648,000 Hard, $720,000 Impoppable). That price held until Update 55.0 in June 2026, which raised it to $650,000 on Medium while buffing its Boss damage.
Main attack: seeking missiles
B.O.M.B. alternates fire between a left and a right cannon, launching a homing missile every 4.3 seconds at Degree 1 with 68 range. Targeting options are First, Last, Close and Strong. Every missile does three layers of damage:
| Explosion | Damage (D1) | MOAB-Class bonus at launch | Boss bonus at launch | Pierce | Effects |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Main explosion (1 per missile) | 210 | +2,100 | none | 80 | 3s stun, 20 units of pushback |
| Cluster explosions (8 per missile) | 100 | +300 | +900 | 8 each | 3s stun |
| Sub-cluster explosions (8 per cluster) | 50 | +150 | +450 | 8 each | none |
That works out to 73 explosions per shot, all Normal damage, so Lead, Black and Purple Bloons are no problem. The stun on the main and cluster blasts is what makes it feel different from other Paragons: a single missile into a MOAB rush freezes the whole group in place for three seconds while pushing it back down the track.
The weakness is Camo. The main attack and the activated ability cannot see Camo Bloons at all, so you need Camo support from elsewhere (a village, a hero, or Monkey Sub intel).
Activated ability: ISABM
The Indomitable Surface-to-Air Ballistic Missile launches the top half of the bunker as a giant missile with infinite range that ignores line of sight. It flies for up to 9 seconds, dropping an explosion every 0.25 seconds along the way (500 damage, +9,500 to MOAB-Class, 60 pierce, pushback). When it hits its target or runs out of time, it finishes with a 150,000 damage blast that stuns for 5 seconds.
The base cooldown is 30 seconds. Its unusual twist is that every life you lose shaves time off the cooldown: 5 seconds per life at launch, raised to 10 seconds in Update 53.0. Striker Jones‘ Artillery Command also resets it.
Passive ability: Blitz Tactical Storm
This is the Paragon version of Bomb Blitz’s Bomb Storm. When a Bloon is about to leak (or you lose a life, including shield lives), it hits every Bloon on screen, Camo included. Anything below a BAD takes 9,999,999 damage, so it is effectively wiped. BADs and Bosses take a flat 20,000. The cooldown is 120 seconds and does not shrink with Degree, and the damage does not scale either. Treat it as an emergency button rather than a damage source.
How Degree works for B.O.M.B.
Degree uses the standard Paragon system. Hidden “power” points come from the Bomb Shooters you sacrifice and determine a Degree from 1 to 100 (200,000 power):
- Damage dealt: 1 power per 180 damage done by the sacrificed Bomb Shooters, up to 90,000. This is the biggest pool, and here the three tier 5s count too.
- Cash spent on the sacrificed towers, up to 60,000 power. You can also feed money in with the cash slider when placing the Paragon, at slightly worse efficiency.
- Non-tier 5 upgrades: 100 power per upgrade tier, up to 10,000.
- Extra tier 5 Bomb Shooters beyond the required three: 6,000 each, up to 50,000. In practice this is a co-op source.
- Paragon Power Totems from Geraldo: 2,000 each with no cap, which matters most in Boss Events.
Each Degree adds about 1% damage and pierce, plus flat bonuses every 10 Degrees, and speeds up attacks and ability cooldowns with diminishing returns. For B.O.M.B. that means the main attack drops from 4.3 seconds to 2.524 seconds at Degree 100, and ISABM from 30 seconds to about 17.6 seconds. Boss damage gets an extra multiplier every 20 Degrees: ×1.25 at D20, ×1.5 at D40, ×1.75 at D60, ×2 at D80 and ×2.25 at D100 (double against Elite Bosses). Blitz Tactical Storm is the one part that ignores Degree.
The best sacrifices for damage-based power are the towers that rack up pops on their own: Bomb Blitz, Recursive Cluster, MOAB Eliminator and MOAB Assassin.
Where B.O.M.B. fits
It is a burst-and-control Paragon, not a crowd-clearer for dense non-MOAB rounds. It does its best work against BADs and Bosses, especially alongside a Paragon that provides steady damage. Strong targeting is the usual pick, with First preferred on Dreadbloon. It matches up well against Lych and poorly against Blastapopoulos and Phayze.
Quick take: B.O.M.B. hits MOABs very hard and its stuns buy time, but it is blind to Camo outside its passive. Bring Camo detection from another tower, and think of the passive as insurance, not damage.
B.O.M.B. changes after launch
The Paragon has been tuned several times since 51.0, so its current numbers are higher than the launch table above:
| Version | Change | Type |
|---|---|---|
| 51.1 | Main attack and ISABM could detect Camo (undocumented bug) | Change |
| 51.2 | Camo detection on main attack and ISABM removed again | Fix |
| 53.0 | Main explosion damage 210 → 250, MOAB bonus +2,100 → +2,500, new +2,500 Boss bonus | Buff |
| 53.0 | Cluster MOAB bonus +300 → +1,000, Boss bonus +900 → +1,000; sub-cluster MOAB bonus +150 → +500, Boss bonus +450 → +500 | Buff |
| 53.0 | ISABM cooldown reduction per life lost 5s → 10s | Buff |
| 55.0 | Paragon cost $600,000 → $650,000 (Medium) | Nerf |
| 55.0 | Boss bonuses: main +2,500 → +3,500, cluster +1,000 → +1,250, sub-cluster +500 → +600 | Buff |
Three Mines ‘Round: the new Beginner map

Three Mines ‘Round is a desert remake of 3 Times Around from Bloons TD 5. The track has one entrance at the top and one exit at the bottom, and it circles the centre three times anticlockwise before leaving. The path is long: 52.1 red-bloon-seconds on Easy, 47.4 on Medium and 41.7 on Hard, which is part of why it plays so easily.
On the left is a dried river with a few small puddles for water towers. Land towers can go on the dry riverbed and the bridges, but not on the banks. Rocks holding Bananite crystals and a tent in the top-left corner block placement and line of sight.
Bananite crystals: an investment, not a removable
The six crystal rocks are the reason this map exists. Removing one costs money and takes 10 rounds (20 for the biggest one), and when it finishes you get more cash back than you paid. Ninja Kiwi called it a “de-venge” map, since it lets you save up for a Paragon even in CHIMPS.
| Crystal location | Cost | Returns | Profit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under the loop | $435 | $870 | $435 |
| Left side | $3,000 | $4,600 | $1,600 |
| Bottom-right, inside the loop | $10,000 | $15,000 | $5,000 |
| Above the loop | $25,000 | $37,000 | $12,000 |
| Top-left, inside the loop | $50,000 | $72,000 | $22,000 |
| Bottom-right corner (20 rounds) | $100,000 | $160,000 | $60,000 |
All but the corner crystal also open up extra land when they are cleared. Since patch 51.2 the payouts are the same on every mode: Half Cash does not halve them and Double Cash does not boost them. For a full round-by-round plan, see our Three Mines ‘Round CHIMPS guide.
Skeletor Obyn and the Havoc Staff power

The Masters of the Universe crossover that started in Update 46 continues with a Skeletor skin for Obyn Greenfoot, sold in the Skeletor Prestige Pack. It comes with a new questline, Oh no! Skeletor!, and a new premium power.
Havoc Staff

The power summons Skeletor’s skull staff onto the map for 20 seconds. It does two things:
- Tek Bombs: stun up to 5,000 Bloons on screen for 4 seconds, firing three times (at 0, 3 and 6 seconds). They deal no damage.
- Skeletor Hands: every 0.5 seconds the hands grab small Bloons and earn $150 per grab, up to $6,000 over the staff’s lifetime. Double Cash and Half Cash do not change this.
You get 3 free uses from the Oh no! Skeletor! quest. Outside that it comes from the Havoc Staff Booster Pack in the shop. Patch 51.1 stopped the hands from grabbing MOAB-Class Bloons and from making extra cash in Deflation.
Balance changes in v51.0
This was one of the larger balance passes of 2025. The themes: Ice Monkey and Glue Gunner tier 5s got real damage against Ceramics and MOABs, Monkey Ace and Sun Temple traded spray for focused damage, three older Paragons were retuned, and Silas, Sauda and Striker Jones were pulled back. “(U)” marks changes that were not in the official notes.
Bomb Shooter
| Upgrade | Change | Type |

| Bomb Blitz | Bomb Storm’s first hit soaks through MOAB-Class layers (U) | Buff |
| Bomb Blitz | Bomb Storm’s first hit no longer affects MOABs or smaller Bloons (U) | Nerf |

| MOAB Shove (x-x-3) | Homing missile damage 1 → 2 | Buff |

Patches after v51.0
v51.1 (21 October 2025)
The first patch fixed several 51.0 problems and changed a few numbers:
| Upgrade | Change | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Sun Temple Magic: Arcane Blast | Projectile speed 200 → 300 (same travel distance) | Fix |
| Arcane Blast ($300–$7,500 sacrificed) | Damage 50 → 75, cooldown 4.0s → 2.0s | Buff |
| Storm Blast ($2,001–$10,000 sacrificed) | Can now affect MOABs as intended | Fix |
| Havoc Staff | Hands no longer grab MOAB-Class Bloons or make extra cash in Deflation | Nerf |
| Support Chinook | Redeployment can again move towers onto themselves | Fix |
| Popseidon | Flood no longer freezes BADs and Bosses | Fix |
| Magus Perfectus | Correctly switches to Drain Beam when Mana runs out | Fix |
| Mega Massive Munitions Factory | Carpet of Spikes correctly deals extra damage to Elite Bosses | Fix |
It also restored Benjamin’s Bloon Trojan targeting MOAB-Class Bloons at Level 7+, fixed Monkey Money recharges for Beacon Storm, saved Bananite mining progress at Boss checkpoints, stopped Microraptor from being placed on the track, restored initial cooldowns on passive abilities and fixed a crash when loading a Level 5 Corvus. An undocumented side effect gave B.O.M.B.’s main attack and ISABM Camo detection.
v51.2 (28 October 2025)
The second patch removed B.O.M.B.’s accidental Camo detection (Blitz Tactical Storm keeps it). It also made the Three Mines ‘Round crystals independent of game mode, so they pay out normally on Deflation, CHIMPS and Half Cash and are not boosted by Double Cash. Other fixes covered the Flaming Hot Punch-A-Rang artifact with Pops Fired, the map-wide buff from the Sub Admiral Monkey Knowledge, the Lava Lakes Vengeful skin on Adora’s Temple, IAP items wrongly labelled “Purchased”, and blank squares on the upgrade menu. There was no 51.3.
What Update 51 means for your games
- Bomb Shooter is now a real late-game option. B.O.M.B. is a strong MOAB and Boss Paragon, but plan Camo detection before you build it. On launch numbers it was weaker than it is today, so if you dropped it early, it is worth another try.
- Three Mines ‘Round is the place to farm a Paragon in CHIMPS. Start the cheap crystals early, then line up the $50,000 and $100,000 ones once your defence is stable.
- Ice and Glue tier 5s do damage now. Super Brittle and 2-0-5 Super Glue are worth testing in Ceramic-heavy rounds, while Absolute Zero needs Camo and Lead support to freeze everything.
- Rebuild your Silas and Sauda setups. Silas lost a lot of Frozen damage and Sauda’s Level 20 hits a bit softer. Both are still fine, but they no longer carry as much on their own.
- Upgrade MOAB Shove to Comanche Defense. Tier 3 shove barely slows ZOMGs and DDTs now, while the tier 4 push got stronger.
- Phayze got easier. Lower health, slower movement and a much weaker Radar Jam pull make Phayze boss events more forgiving.
BTD6 Update 51 FAQ
When did BTD6 Update 51 come out?
Version 51.0 released on Steam on 14 October 2025 and on the Epic Games Store on 15 October 2025. Patch 51.1 followed on 21 October and 51.2 on 28 October 2025.
What is new in BTD6 Update 51?
The Bomb Shooter Paragon (Ballistic Obliteration Missile Bunker), the Beginner map Three Mines ‘Round, a Skeletor skin for Obyn, the Havoc Staff power, two new quests (Oh no! Skeletor! and Ice To Meet You) and a large balance pass across towers, heroes and bosses.
How do you get the Bomb Shooter Paragon?
Unlock the Paragon upgrade for the Bomb Shooter with 750,000 XP. In a game, place a Bloon Crush (5-0-0), a MOAB Eliminator (0-5-0) and a Bomb Blitz (0-0-5), then buy the Paragon on any of them. It cost $600,000 on Medium at launch and costs $650,000 since Update 55.0.
Can the Bomb Shooter Paragon pop Camo Bloons?
Only its passive, Blitz Tactical Storm, can hit Camo. The main attack and the ISABM ability need outside Camo detection. For a short time in patch 51.1 they could see Camo because of a bug, which 51.2 removed.
Is Three Mines ‘Round a hard map?
No. It is a Beginner map with a long track that loops three times around the centre, and its Bananite crystals give you extra cash.
What was the next update after BTD6 51?
Update 52.0 released on 3 December 2025 with the Frontier Legends DLC, the Ice Monkey Paragon Herald of Everfrost and the Expert map Tricky Tracks.
