Banana Farms are the backbone of any non-CHIMPS strategy in Bloons TD 6. Efficient farming allows you to afford expensive Tier 5 towers and Paragons much earlier than intended. Understanding which path to choose—and when—is the difference between struggling at Round 80 and dominating at Round 200.
Path 1: Top Path (The Powerhouse)
Focus: Maximum raw income through manual crates.
- Tier 3 (3-2-0) Greater Production: A solid starting point for early-game income.
- Tier 4 (4-2-0) Banana Research Facility: The gold standard for farming. It produces high-value crates that must be hovered over or collected by a Banana Farmer.
- Tier 5 (5-2-0) Banana Central: The ultimate farm. It produces massive income and grants a 25% bonus to the production of all other 4-x-x Banana Research Facilities on the map.
Best Use: Use this for Boss Events or late-game Freeplay where you need the absolute highest cash-per-square-inch.
Path 2: Middle Path (The Bank)
Focus: Storing money for interest or taking loans.
- Tier 3 (2-3-0) Monkey Bank: Automatically stores income and adds 15% interest at the end of each round. You must manually withdraw the money once the bank is full ($7,000 capacity, or $9,500 with Monkey Knowledge).
- Tier 4 (2-4-0) IMF Loan: Allows you to take a $10,000 loan instantly. However, 50% of your future income will go toward paying back the debt.
- Tier 5 (2-5-0) Monkey Nomads: Increases the loan capacity and allows for massive, repeated cash injections through its activated ability.
Best Use: Use Banks in the mid-game for a massive “payoff” moment to buy a specific expensive Tier 5 tower.
Path 3: Bottom Path (The Automated)
Focus: Automatic income and synergy with water towers.
- Tier 3 (0-2-3) Marketplace: Automatically adds money to your total at the end of every round. No manual collection required.
- Tier 4 (0-2-4) Central Market: Increases income and provides a 10% income boost to Merchantmen (0-0-3+ Monkey Buccaneers). This stacks up to 10 times.
- Tier 5 (0-2-5) Monkey Wall Street: Produces a massive lump sum at the end of every round, grants extra lives, and automatically collects crates from nearby Top Path farms.
Best Use: The best choice for “lazy” farming, mobile players, or strategies involving the Trade Empire boat farming method.
Essential Farming Tips
- Crosspathing: * For Top Path, always use 4-2-0 (increased production) unless you lack a Farmer, in which case 4-0-2 is acceptable for auto-collection (though less efficient).
- For Bottom Path, 0-2-3 is generally superior to 2-0-3 unless you have specific Monkey Knowledge.
- The Banana Farmer: If you are using Top Path farms, using the Banana Farmer Power (costing 50 Monkey Money) is highly recommended to avoid missing crates.
- Overclocking: You can use an Engineer Monkey (0-4-0) to Overclock a 5-2-0 Banana Central, further boosting its already insane production.
- Monkey City: Placing a 0-0-4 Monkey Village near your farms increases their income by 20%.
