Quincy is the starting hero in Bloons TD 6, unlocked automatically during the tutorial. Despite being the “default” hero, he is a highly versatile, low-cost powerhouse that remains viable even on Expert maps and in CHIMPS mode. His primary strength lies in his low placement cost ($540 on Medium) and his ability to handle most early-game threats efficiently.
Level Progression & Stats
Quincy uses a bow to fire ricocheting arrows that deal Sharp damage. As he levels up, he gains camo detection, explosive arrows, and massive damage bonuses against MOAB-class bloons.
| Level | Key Milestone | Description |
| 1 | Base Attack | Fires arrows that ricochet between 3 bloons. (Cannot pop Lead or Frozen). |
| 3 | Rapid Shot | Ability: Triples attack speed for a short duration. (Quadruples at Lvl 15). |
| 5 | Sharp Eyes | Gains permanent Camo Detection. |
| 7 | Explosive Arrows | Every 3rd shot (every 2nd at Lvl 17) explodes, dealing area damage. |
| 8 | MOAB Damage | Arrows deal +3 damage to MOAB-class bloons (increases at Lvl 14). |
| 10 | Storm of Arrows | Ability: Rains arrows on a targeted area; infinite pierce and massive MOAB damage. |
| 19 | Triple Shot | Fires 3 arrows per shot, significantly increasing total DPS and pierce. |
| 20 | Grandmaster Archer | Maximum attack speed and Storm of Arrows damage is nearly doubled. |
Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths:
- Cheap to Place: One of the easiest heroes to start a CHIMPS run with on Expert maps like Infernal or Muddy Puddles.
- Early Camo Detection: Unlocks at Level 5, saving you money on early Camo-detecting towers.
- Versatile Damage: His ricochet mechanic is excellent for clearing grouped bloons, while his scaling bonuses make him effective against MOABs.
- No Micro Required: Unlike heroes like Geraldo or Corvus, Quincy is a “place and forget” hero for most of the game.
Weaknesses:
- Lead Bloons: Cannot pop Lead bloons naturally until Level 7 (and even then, only with his explosive arrow every few shots).
- DDT Immunity: Because his arrows are “Sharp,” they cannot damage DDTs unless he is buffed by an MIB (2-3-0 Village) or an Alchemist.
- Late Game Scaling: While decent, he is often outclassed in raw Freeplay power (Round 100+) by heroes like Ezili or Adora.
Strategies & Synergy
- The Alchemist Buff: Quincy fires multiple arrows per shot (Levels 6 and 19). Because of this, he benefits immensely from a 4-2-0 Stronger Stimulant Alchemist, as the damage buff applies to every projectile.
- Lead Protection: Pair him with a 0-0-0 Alchemist or a Cannon early on to cover his inability to reliably pop Lead bloons.
- Ability Timing: Use Rapid Shot for Round 40 MOABs and Storm of Arrows for dense rushes like Rounds 63, 76, or 78.
- Expert Map Starts: On maps with limited space, Quincy’s low footprint and low cost make him the “king of the start.”
