CHIMPS mode is already the toughest challenge in BTD6, but some maps push the difficulty to extreme levels. These maps demand precise placements, flawless strategies, and deep game knowledge. Here are the five hardest CHIMPS maps that test even the most experienced players.

1. Ouch

Ouch is considered one of the toughest maps in the entire game. Its multiple short lanes, tight turns, and constant pressure make early-game survival incredibly difficult. You have very little room for error, and most standard CHIMPS setups fail here without expert-level micro and optimized tower paths.

2. Quad

Quad introduces four simultaneous lanes, forcing players to defend multiple angles at once. This splits damage heavily and makes early-game choices very punishing. Towers with global range are mandatory, and even then, round spikes can overwhelm most defenses. One of the most unforgiving CHIMPS maps.

3. Ravine

Ravine has a unique vertical layout with blocked paths and awkward angles, limiting tower vision severely. Many towers can’t hit efficiently, and support tower placement is extremely constrained. Surviving the mid-game requires perfect positioning and high-value towers that can overcome weak line-of-sight.

4. Bloody Puddles

This map is iconic for its six separate lanes, creating nonstop pressure. Bloons arrive from multiple directions at once, overwhelming early towers quickly. It’s one of the most famous difficulty spikes in the game, even for players who have mastered other maps. CHIMPS here demands elite-level planning and timing.

5. Workshop

Workshop is deceptively tricky thanks to its blocked areas, sharp angles, and awkward sightlines. Certain towers struggle to attack consistently, and early rounds require precise placement to avoid leaks. Late-game scaling is manageable, but getting there on CHIMPS takes careful decision-making and strong hero synergy.

Tips for Surviving Hard CHIMPS Maps

  • Global towers like Sniper, Heli Pilot, and Ace are extremely effective.
  • Heroes with map-wide coverage—Etienne, Sauda, and Adora—shine on harder layouts.
  • Prioritize towers that pierce multiple lanes or have constant uptime.
